We're nestled in the heart of Houston in the historic Esperson building, and we're on the lookout for an innovative Data Science Intern to join our dynamic team.
What You'll Do
You'll be at the forefront of leveraging data to enhance our cutting-edge authentication technology. Our products empower users to seamlessly authenticate everything from physical doors to laptops and websites using just their smartphones. You'll be part of a team that's redefining security by using data-driven insights and machine learning to build intelligent, frictionless, and secure experiences within our patented architecture.
Responsibilities
You will be joining one of our exciting teams and likely leading your own project for the term of your internship. You will be doing a subset of the following:
Exploring and analyzing complex datasets to identify patterns and trends in user behavior and authentication events.
Developing, training, and testing machine learning models to detect anomalies, prevent fraud, and optimize the user experience.
Creating data visualizations and comprehensive dashboards to communicate actionable insights to the broader team.
Collaborating closely with software engineering teams to integrate data science solutions and models directly into our core products.
Analyzing and proposing data pipeline and infrastructure changes to enhance data collection and processing.
What We're Looking For
An insatiable desire to build something awesome
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)
A willingness to learn new skills and teach others what you already know
Ideal Superpowers
Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
Experience with databases and writing complex queries, specifically for MySQL and MongoDB
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau)
A strong foundation in statistical modeling and hypothesis testing
Knowledge of existing authentication, cryptographic paradigms, or general cybersecurity concepts
Experience with big data technologies or cloud-based data warehouses
